Motorcycle and scooter repair

Scheduled servicing, brakes, tyres, electrical and engine faults on petrol and electric motorcycles of every brand.

We work on every motorcycle that comes through our door. Besides Volta, that means scooters of other brands, petrol motorcycles from 50 cc to 250 cc, and electric scooters and mopeds.

Putting off a service often ends in a more expensive repair. A scooter whose belt is not changed in time will leave you stranded, and worn-out brake pads eat into the disc. We tell you clearly what needs doing now and what can wait until the next service.

What we do

  • Petrol: engine oil and filter, air filter, spark plug, variator belt and rollers, chain and sprocket set, valve clearance adjustment
  • Fuel system: carburettor cleaning and tuning, fuel injection checks
  • Electric: battery testing, charging system, controller, motor and sensor connections
  • Brake pads, discs, drum brakes and brake fluid
  • Tyre changes, and valve, rim and bearing checks
  • Battery, starter motor, alternator and lighting faults
  • Shock absorber, steering and throttle cable adjustment

When to service your bike

  1. First service

On a new scooter, the first service comes between 500 and 1,000 km, depending on the brand. On a Volta, it is at 500 km or 1 month. We go by the figure in your owner’s manual.

  2. Regular servicing

The interval depends on the brand: 3,000 km or 6 months for petrol Volta models, and an oil change every 6,000 km or once a year for Honda and Yamaha. Whichever comes first.

  3. Heavy use

Courier work, stop-start city traffic, heat and dust shorten the interval. Small engines also burn oil, so check the oil level between services.

  4. Before every ride

Tyre pressure (when cold, to the figure on your model’s label), brake feel, lights, and fuel or charge level. It takes a minute.

FAQ

Do you work on brands other than Volta?

Yes. We service and repair petrol and electric scooters and motorcycles of every brand. When a job needs parts, we tell you in advance how long they will take to arrive.

I hardly ride. Does my bike still need a service?

Yes. Oil and brake fluid deteriorate over time, and most manufacturers ask for at least one service a year, whatever the mileage. On electric Volta models, no more than 6 months should pass between services.

What gets replaced at a service?

It depends on the type of bike and its mileage. On a petrol bike, it is usually the oil, filters and spark plug. On a scooter, the variator parts. On an electric bike, the focus is on checking the battery, brakes and connections. We talk about any part that needs replacing before we start.

My bike is not running and I cannot bring it in. What can I do?

Call us or message us on WhatsApp first. Some problems can be sorted out over the phone. If not, we will work out together how you can get the bike to the shop.
